How to contact TV Licensing

Call 0300 790 6096* for general inquiries. For Welsh language support, call 0300 790 6042*.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 18:30; Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays: closed.

5. Simple Payment Plan (SPP) Support

Payment Options

TV Licensing offers various payment methods:

  • Direct Debit: Spread the cost monthly, quarterly, or annually. Payments are automatically taken, and the licence renews each year.
  • Debit/Credit Card: Pay online, over the phone, or at a PayPoint.
  • Payment Card: Spread the cost weekly. Use it online, by phone, by text, or at any PayPoint.
  • Cheque: Send a cheque made payable to 'TV Licensing' to Darlington, DL98 1TL. Include your name, address, and postcode on the back.

Concessions & Eligibility

Eligible individuals may qualify for a free or reduced-fee TV Licence:

  • Over 75s: Free licence if receiving Pension Credit. Call 0300 790 6117* for assistance.
  • Blind (severely sight impaired): 50% concession available. Provide appropriate evidence.
  • Residential Care: Some care homes provide an ARC TV Licence covering residents. Check with your care home administrator.

Cancellations & Refunds

To cancel your licence or request a refund:

  • Moving Home: Update your address online or call 0300 790 6117*.
  • Licence Holder Has Died: Call 0300 790 6117* to transfer or cancel the licence. If the licence holder was over 75 and had a free licence, the free licence will cover anyone who was living at the address until it expires.
  • Not Required: If you no longer need a licence, complete the No Licence Needed declaration.
